Delivery Rescue (NDR/RTO)

Built to reduce RTO: failed deliveries trigger an escalating rescue ladder, WhatsApp first, then a human on the phone.

The Problem

In COD markets a failed delivery is a coin-flip between a lost sale and a paid return shipment. Most competitors fire one WhatsApp template and move on when nobody replies. We put a phone call and an SLA clock behind every failed attempt before writing the order off.

How it works

Every step, laid out in the order it runs.

Detect

Courier events land the moment the courier logs them, and a failed attempt opens a rescue case with its own deadline.

Escalate

WhatsApp re-confirmation first; no reply and the case lands on a telecaller's app, which dials out on a voice-call escalation ladder against an SLA countdown.

Resolve

Address fixed, re-attempt booked, COD flipped to prepaid, or a clean RTO decision, all logged on the ledger.

Where AI-voice calling stops

AI voice recovers the delivery. We send a human when it can't.

A newer wave of NDR tools now calls the customer with an AI voice agent the moment a delivery attempt fails. That's real progress over a template WhatsApp message, and RxFlow does it too. But the AI-voice-only players in this category stop at the call. No answer, a bad number, or a customer who wants to renegotiate the return window, and the case just sits there.

Ours doesn't stop there. When the AI can't close it, the case escalates to a telecaller who dials out on the same lead, against an SLA countdown. RTO held at 12% across our deployments, against 30%+ typical, and a human on the phone is a large part of why.

Questions

Before you plug in a rescue ladder.

How much does an NDR cost in India?

Estimates circulating in the industry put a single failed delivery attempt at roughly ₹80–120, once you count the courier's re-attempt fee, the message or call spent chasing it, and the staff time lost on the case. That figure shows up in vendor marketing rather than a published, audited study, so treat it as directional, not gospel, and it's before the far larger cost if the order returns to origin at all.

How is RTO automation different from NDR automation?

NDR automation acts on one failed delivery attempt, before the parcel gets sent back. RTO automation is the wider goal: keeping the return-to-origin rate down across every order. It includes NDR rescue but also starts earlier, at COD verification and address checks before the courier ever leaves the warehouse. NDR is the alarm; RTO is everything that keeps the alarm from going off.
